Dixie State University’s launches a new Master of Athletic Training program
The administration yesterday announced that Dixie State is now registering students for the Fall 2019 semester.
This exciting new program is preparing students to provide comprehensive patient care as athletic training professionals, the master’s degree will provide hands-on learning experiences using a skills-based approach in both the classroom and in a clinical setting, according to a press release issued by Dixie State.
Students will learn how to offer care in the areas of prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and organization and professional health. A growing field of employment.
“Not only will Dixie State University’s new Master of Athletic Training program prepare students to be well-prepared, competent and compassionate athletic trainers, the program also meets a workforce need in a profession that is expected to significantly grow in the coming years,” Peter J. Neibert, Dixie State’s program director for athletic training, said in the press release.
Graduates will upon successful completion of the program, graduates are qualified to take the Board of Certification exam to become certified athletic trainers and be qualified to work in professional and collegiate sports, secondary and intermediate schools, sports medicine clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, fitness centers, military programs and physician offices.
